About

I’m Helen Gilbert, an experienced Surrey/Sussex-based freelance journalist, commercial copywriter, and media consultant for PR agencies and brands. In 1999, I entered the world of freelance journalism driven by my love of words, people and inquisitive (some might say nosy) nature. Two decades and thousands of stories later, I’m still here but the way I work has evolved. 

You’ll still find my words in the national, consumer and trade press but for the past six years, I’ve been running ‘Think Like An Editor’ media training sessions, bespoke workshops and consultancy services for PR agencies, as well as individuals and food & drinks brands looking to raise their profile within print and digital media. 

Now my goal is to help individuals, small companies and agencies take the stress out of their writing and publicity requirements so they can focus on the important task of growing sales, winning new business and maximising their press coverage.
